What is ThinLinc?

ThinLinc is a remote desktop solution built specifically for Linux-based HPC and data-intensive environments. It enables scientists, engineers, and analysts to run heavy graphical workloads from any device with low latency and high security.

spinTwo is an official integration partner of Cendio and includes ThinLinc in many of our deployments (via spinUp and spinBuild), or as a standalone offering.

Why ThinLinc?

High-Performance Remote Access

  • Supports GPU-accelerated applications
.
  • Optimized for OpenGL and interactive tools (e.g. MATLAB, ParaView, etc.)

Security & Centralization

  • Secure SSH-based connection
  • Centralized management of user sessions and system resources

Lightweight & Scalable

  • Low bandwidth usage, ideal for remote or hybrid teams
  • Works on browsers or native ThinLinc client across OS (Linux, Windows, macOS)

Broad
Integration

  • Easily integrates with schedulers (Slurm, PBS)
  • Compatible with clusters, VMs, and cloud-based systems
